Organised in Paris by Afsset*, from the 2 nd to the 6th of September 2006, at the La Villette Conference Centre, the joint ISEE*/ISEA* conference brought together over 1500 researchers and scientists from 57 countries to discuss major issues in environmental and public health. It is the first time that such an event is organised in Europe on this theme. More than 1500 scientists met in Paris, to assess the progress of environmental health research. Afsset wanted to take the opportunity of this major scientific event in Europe to raise awareness among elected officials, the media and the general public on the diversity of environment and health issues worldwide and show their importance and the value of the research in that area.

The conference was covered by a number of press and audiovisual media. More than 40 articles were published, 3 television and 8 radio interviews were also carried out.
